”ART IS WHEN WE LISTEN TO THE SONG OF OUR HEART AND WHEN WE ANSWER THE CALL OF OUR SOUL.”
Born in Namibia in 1980, I grew up between the natural forces of the icy Atlantic and the burning sands of Namibia. I grew up with the beauty of the Atlantic and the raw and generous countryside around Cape Town in South Africa. I had the good fortune to discover the beauty of Europe’s seasons and feel the icy cold of winter and the wonder of spring.
Along my life’s journey I met the love of my life in Switzerland. Today we live with our three boys on my husband’s family’s farm, called Château d’Es-Bons, with organically grown vineyards and field crops in the La Côte region of the Canton of Vaud.
“You’ve been an artist ever since childhood,” my mother often says to me, and it’s true that I remember drawing in the back of our rusty Land Rover as we drove home from school in South Africa. For as long as I can remember, art has been for me a means of expression and of healing.
After my studies in art therapy, however, I almost lost touch with my connection to the artist in me. While guiding others towards meeting the magic of art and towards bonding with the forces of healing through art, I somehow lost the artist that lived deeply inside me. But now, the things I learned in my studies of biographical support and the wisdom of art therapy are present in my art work and have helped me re-connect with that inner artist.
Through dry pastels, drawing, water colour, modelling, and oil painting, I respond to the creative song in my soul, the song that awakens me to create not only for myself and for my need to express, but also to give back to the invisible world a colourful breath of gratitude for all it gives to us.
Artistic approach
There is nothing more inspiring than the connection, the real bond that is there for us with the beauty of nature, of the universe, and of every living being. Love, devotion, and friendship live in our hearts and souls and it’s in the soul and the heart that art awakens.
Ever since childhood, I have loved nature and learned to feel gratitude towards the invisible forces of the universe with thankfulness for their vibrations and their reflections on earth and in our souls.
The essence of the devotion rising from the heart is love for the world and for all that surrounds us. This devotion towards nature and towards others is the essence of my art.
