Chiara Mari - Fiamma
BIOGRAPHIE
I was born in Bellinzona, in Italian Switzerland, on the 13th of April, 1988. After studying social work, social sciences, social politics, and the science of education at the university and getting professional experience in these fields, I went on to study writing under Laurence Nobécourt and take artistic training with Manu Perez. The French writer reminded me that “in the beginning was the word” and led me to understand that the Word contains all potential for a life path and an artistic path full of wonder and unveiling of essence.
I am currently taking training in art therapy at the ATELIER in Geneva. I also participate regularly in poetry festivals promoting poetry in the canton of Vaud by organizing evenings of poetry and film at Pôle Sud, in Lausanne. I support art with my commitment to the Festival onirique des libertés (Dream festival of freedoms) in Lausanne and I continue to hold exhibitions of my work. In 2023 I launched my first book, a collection of poems in Italian, entitled “Sulle ali della libertà” and published by Helvetia Edições.
Artistic approach
My publications are in Italian and Portuguese. In 2023 I was awarded a prize from the Luce e Arte association in Rome. For the last few months I’ve been contributing to a zine called Meluzine, who have published my first text in French.
The poet, for me, is the soul of society and writing is a key mission enabling us to discern and reveal what is essential to a society and to humanity that is losing its bearings. The work of poets and authors is therefore deeply revolutionary and visionary. Such is my belief and such is the light passed on in my publications. In my solo poetry collection, “Sulle ali della libertà”, for example, this approach is clearly seen and its light goes with the reader all along the journey. The collection is indeed a deep, yet gentle immersion in the heart of freedom, helping the reader, page by page, to rediscover himself as he rediscovers the lively, colourful, dynamic universe that is all around, breathing hope and life into society.
At the moment I’m going on with writing projects in Portuguese, Brazilian, and Italian. I’ve also been leading workshops in poetry, in intuitive painting, and in writing, as well as hosting slam poetry sessions together with the Association lausannoise d’amateurs et amatrices de mots (Lausanne association of word lovers).
