BIOGRAPHY
Being sensitive to Nature’s beauty ever since childhood, I followed a white hare who led me to a land of wonders. I stroll through the forest till I find just the right piece of wood to give form to a new creature. And this creature will try to enchant the one who sets his or her eyes on its wooden body and thereby to re-enchant a waiting world.
In 1997, having successfully survived five harsh winters in upper Neuchâtel canton, I came back down from L’école d’arts appliqués (school of applied arts) in La Chaux-de-Fonds bearing a diploma of apprenticeship as an engraver. I’ve been working as an engraver for twenty-five years now and have learned a lot about precision and attention to detail.
Recently I went back to school to learn to paint Orthodox icons.
Artistic approach
A word that speaks to me is “philokalia”.
It means love of the beautiful, the good, and the true.
