Marianne Viret

I was born in Geneva and was employed for a long time in luxury hotels where I enjoyed working in beautifully decorated buildings, full of history. In my childhood and teen years, on the other hand, with a father who was a musician, it was music that satisfied my artistic leanings.

Then life gave me a change of scene by bringing me to this lovely resort called Villars sur Ollon, in the Vaudois Alps. Surrounded by mountains and woods, I find the quality of life here quite exceptional. My husband and I first worked for a few years in real estate and in the food sector, before opening a local produce shop with a café and wine bar right here in Villars sur Ollon.

A year of art school with training in several different techniques has enabled me at last to make my dream come true of drawing, painting, and generally developing the artistic bent in me that had been left dormant for too long.

From now on the walls of our local produce shop, “Les saveurs des Alpes”, enhanced with my drawings do, in my humble opinion, give new energy to the place.

Geobiology (harmonizing one’s surroundings and home) and also numerology are part of the great diversity of energies my life’s path has led me to as well. Having all these strings in my bow gives me a lovely feeling of fulfillment and richness in my life.
