BIOGRAPHY
I was born a Kurd in Konya, Turkey, and I’ve been living in Switzerland for three years now. I do a swirling dance inspired by the dance of Dervish turners, which I discovered through my ancestral heritage and from others who, like me, are searching for transcendence and personal development.
I dance so as to immerse myself in the mystery of the Universe that is turning and opening up the way back to the Original Source at the centre of my being.
Dance, for me, is also a means of coming in contact with the Divine Light that is the greatest reality a human being can experience.
Artistic approach
Being a form of prayer and devotion that leads to wisdom, this dance has brought me deeply alive. It’s a dance that teaches us to surrender to a higher power, a power that helps us feel the oneness and fullness of life.
By demonstrations and in my workshops, I invite others into a space where each can connect to a universal consciousness and experience its pure presence.
The twirling movement also works as medicine, for it strengthens and heals the body. In addition, instincts are awakened, perceptions are widened, and new values arise.
My desire is not so much to teach a dance as to encourage participants to put the best of themselves into this movement in order to discover what they already have inside them.
